Its only natural then when the sun shines we want to take advantage of it and get a tan. It makes us feel better!
So here are a few tips on how to protect your skin tis summer and ensure it'll look as healthy and glowing as possible!
Keep hydrated. It is important to try and drink at least 2 litres of pure water everyday but remember that if you have increased your daily intake of fruit and veg this goes towards it. Drinking lots of fresh water helps to plump up the skin cells from the inside out
When on holiday try to have 1 large glass of water for every alcoholic drink
Eat more raw foods every day. These foods are high in antioxidants essential for good skin health and because they are more alkaline the skin cells are healthier. Remember acid is ageing
Use a good moisturiser and as natural as possible. Look out for ones which are parabens free.
Have a go at making your own floral waters. My favourite is Lavender!
Using a floral water before you apply a day cream helps to lock moisture ensuring rehydrated skin
How to make a floral water - steep some lavender sprigs in boiling water. Allow to cool and use as a face spritzer or toner
Don't forget the hair. the sun is very damaging on the hair so run through a small amount of coconut oil or olive oil through your hair. A natural moisturiser and conditioner. You'll have super soft locks!!
And if you do get sun burnt apply a lotion of aloe vera and lavender oil ( 30g aloe vera to 4 drops of lavender oil) regularly. Both have excellent skin healing properties
